In 62 online reports of lithium with a classic psychedelic, 47% described seizures and 39% needed medical attention (Nayak 2021). With LSD, chronic lithium (alone or with imipramine) intensified effects in all 3 people interviewed (Bonson & Murphy 1996).
Lithium is named in rule. A Facilitator licensee may not provide services to a participant taking lithium without a referral for natural medicine services from a licensed provider, medical clearance from their medical or behavioral health provider, or a consultation and risk review with a medical or behavioral health provider. A Clinical Facilitator who does not prescribe lithium within their secondary license needs clearance from, or a consultation and risk review with, such a provider.
