01 Interaction with psilocybin

ND

It may add to psilocybin's serotonin activity and brief blood pressure rise. Also, its label reports rare significant blood pressure elevation.

Detail Almotriptan is a triptan (a 5-HT1B/1D agonist) that narrows blood vessels. It may add to psilocybin's serotonergic effects and brief blood pressure rise; it has not been studied with psilocybin. It is metabolized by MAO-A, CYP3A4 and CYP2D6, liver enzymes that also metabolized psilocin in lab studies. Also, its label reports serotonin syndrome with SSRIs and SNRIs, and rare significant blood pressure elevation. Sources [1][2]

02 Pharmacology relevant to psilocybin

2 listed · counted on reports
Raises blood pressure or heart rate
Raises blood pressure or heart rate. Psilocybin raises both for several hours, so the effects can add. Sources [1]
Serotonergic
Increases serotonin activity, for example by blocking its reuptake or releasing it. Psilocybin acts on serotonin receptors, so effects can add together. With antidepressant use, the psilocybin response can be weaker. Sources [1]
